I did notice the motherboard is fussy about the memory you install I checked the Gigabyte web site and am using Corsair, work well for me! I've always had good luck with Gigabyte boards, and this is an extremely well-designed one. Coupled with the higher price of Core i7 processors, this means that we are stuck with a huge bill to build a capable overclocking gaming rig, or are we? The manual provides a ggiabyte of error codes, but upon initial installation of the board, I found it was hanging on an unlisted code, then cycling through several others which I inferred as a reset action. Not a huge issue and I was finally able to troubleshoot by reinstalling components, but it would have been helpful.
GIGABYTE has certainly produced a few good X58 boards for the ex58-ud4l users, but today we are looking at one aimed for overclockers who want to keep a few extra dollars in sx58-ud4p wallets. Gigabyte UD4P This is probably the best bang for the buck motherboard for me, surely worth the cost. I feel like I have to comment that installing any new "double-wide" graphics gigavyte will render some other port unusable, but that's more an issue of the form-factor than the board itself.
I'm very pleased with the way the SATA ports are configured as well, being positioned perfectly off the side of the board so as to allow for proper cable control.
